Really struggling to nail down anything with these drawings.. I tried to take a step back and look at the very basic elements of the weight shift poses.. I need to get good at these before I can get good at anything more difficult than this
Awesome! I think you did a really good job just looking at the gesture and you were really able to capture the weight shift, movement, and general gesture of the figure.
Alex, The weight shifts in these are pretty good and the silhouettes are decent. Please keep looking to more dynamic gestures and go beyond establishing the pose and forms, when possible, to develop some individuality in the drawing. I would also suggest to loosen up your line and try not to be so concerned with getting the contours to be neat and tidy. Starting lightly and loosely, you can later establish "the edge" of the form as you go.
